Frequently Asked Questions

  • We charge a standard delivery / setup / takedown fee of $120 for locations up to 50km from our HQ in Barrie. A surcharge of $1 applies to every additional km above 50km.

    Pickup at our Barrie HQ is available only for orders consisting of 3 letters or less and 2 numbers or less.

  • For Delivery - the rental period is for 1 calendar day and extra charges apply for takedowns after 12am.

    For Pickup orders, our marquees must be returned by 10am the next calendar day.

  • A standard power outlet is required and up to 9 letters can be on one circuit/standard power outlet – however, older venues and buildings with lower amounts of power may require additional power outlets.

    Usually, 10+ letters will require 2 standard power outlets on separate circuits.

    Please keep in mind that Alpha-Lit Simcoe Muskoka is not responsible for any insufficient, broken, or damaged power sources provided by your venue/building or home. Power should be tested prior to renting.

    If you’re unsure how many outlets you’ll need, we’ll be happy to assist you in determining if 1 or 2 circuits will be required for your desired setup after you’ve submitted our inquiry form.

  • Our Letters (A-Z) are:

    3ft tall x 2ft wide x 1.5ft deep (however the I, M, & W feature different widths)

    Our Numbers (0-9) are:

    4ft tall x 2ft wide x 1.5ft (however, the number 1 is a bit less wide)

    Our Symbols (! ? + & ♥, etc) are:

    3ft tall and the width varies but most are in between 1.5ft - 3ft.

    *please note, if your event is outside it may require a stability rack which will add depth. 5ft depth with stability or stacking racks.

  • Yes! We’ll make sure you have extra bulbs if needed and gaff tape to tape down your extension cords. If a rack is needed to display your letters in two levels, we have those available to rent from our catalog.

    We’ll also provide extension cords up to 50ft from a power source. Anything further than that we will need to be notified prior to the event

  • Yes! For daytime events, our marquees look amazing even when not plugged in. And for when you definitely want power to your marquees, you can rent a generator to supply power. At this time we do provide generators for an additional fee and we ask that we be notified in case you plan on renting one.

  • Yes! Outdoors is fine as long as it isn’t raining, snowing, or if there are high winds. 

If your event happens to fall on a day with inclement weather, it is your responsibility to have an indoor backup plan as at this time, we do not offer weather-related refunds.

  • Yes! We offer racks (see in our catalog) which are required to stack letters into two levels and ca be rented at the same time as your marquee rentals.

  • Absolutely! As long as the table is long and wide enough. Keep in mind that most table heights are 32” tall and our letters are 36” tall so the letters will go slightly above the height of the table.

  • All of our marquees come with with classic clear 15w bulbs however we do offer a number of colors to rent if you prefer a more colorful bulb look!

    We currently have red, blue, green, orange, pink, and purple bulbs to rent. We have a limited quality of colored bulbs so please inquire about the color you’d like to make sure we have enough for your event and display.

    Colored bulbs are an add-on of $10 per letter, number, or symbol.

  • 100% yes! Our marquees look amazing with and without balloons but who doesn’t love balloons?

  • No. Our set-ups cannot be moved by anyone but the Alpha-Lit team and all our setup locations require onsite approval.

    For the safety of our customers and your guests, as well as to prevent damage, your setup cannot be moved by anyone other than the Alpha-Lit team unless approved by Alpha-Lit prior to the event.
